LITTLE FREE LIBRARY – Ribbon Cutting

Wesley Lambert, a Boy Scout candidate for Eagle Scout in Troop 372, recently approached the Town Council for approval to install a “Little Free Library” at Town Hall as part of his Eagle Scout project to promote literacy.  The ribbon cutting ceremony was held on January 19, 2016, during the Town Council meeting.  The Little Free Library program began in 2009, but really began to take root in 2010.  Their mission is “to promote literacy and the love of reading by building free book exchanges worldwide and to build a sense of community as we share skills, creativity and wisdom across generations.”  Our “Little Free Library” charter # is 34148 and there are currently over 36,000 Little Free Libraries around the globe.
